In domestic news: as I wrote Monday, I bought a turkey though I'm going to friends' for Thanksgiving. I roasted the turkey yesterday. I carved it with portions now in the freezer. I made stock from the carcass.

There wasn't much left when I went to Stiles, the produce/flower stand just over the border in Wisconsin. Susan will close up next Sunday. She takes the holidays off and will get back to the greenhouse in January.

Weekly update: enjoying the sunshine, a finish, and a start from With Strings Attached

I'm happy to report that my husband was released from the hospital Friday afternoon. The tests were negative, which is the right outcome. We are very grateful to our good friends who took time out of their busy day to drive me into Chicago to get him (and bring him back). He's re-oriented and all is well.

Yesterday we revisited Volo Bog. It's at the western edge of the county, 28 miles from where we live.
